
Funding Opportunities for CIT Training
Thanks to the generous support of our partners, CABLE is pleased to offer financial support for law enforcement agencies to help offset the costs associated with agency personnel attending CIT Training.
Department Overtime Reimbursement
The Connecticut Alliance to Benefit Law Enforcement (CABLE, Inc.) is authorized by the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) to reimburse departmental expenses for training participant overtime or backfill time incurred as a result of CIT training. A maximum of $500.00 per participant to a maximum of $1,500.00 per department annually (fiscal year, July- June) is available. Funding is limited and is distributed on a first come, first serve basis to law enforcement agencies that meet the eligibility criteria outlined below. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Agency must agree to train at least 75% of patrol force (may be done in increments).

Agency must have an approved CIT policy and designated CIT coordinator who has attended CABLE CIT Coordinator training or must agree to implement a CIT policy/appoint a CIT coordinator within 90 days of the training for which the agency is seeking reimbursement.

Agency must complete the CIT Training Reimbursement Request form (request by emailing training@cablect.com) & must provide documentation of the training participant's overtime expense/backfill overtime expense and must submit the name and contact information for the department CIT coordinator and department CIT policy for review and approval via email (or letter indicating policy development within 90 days.

If CIT coordinator has not attended CABLE CIT Coordinator Training, letter must indicate department's intent to attend the next scheduled training. CIT Coordinator training is offered twice annually.
NAMI CIT-Training Scholarships
CABLE is proud to collaborate with National Alliance on Mental Illness Connecticut (NAMI-CT) affiliates to strengthen positive police-community partnerships across local communities. Thanks to the generous financial support of NAMI affiliates and their members, scholarship opportunities are available.
Eligible municipalities (listed below), including Connecticut State Police Troops and Resident Trooper towns, may receive scholarships to cover the cost of training registration, as funding permits. To inquire about available funding and to obtain registration instructions, please contact training@cablect.com.
